Canola or double zero rapeseed is grown worldwide and is one of Canada’s most valuable crops; with more than 15 million tonnes being grown annually on more than 15 million acres of land planted by over 50,000 farmers. With its low saturated fat levels, excellent balance of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, versatility and light taste, canola oil has found an important place in the world's kitchens, food processing companies and restaurants.
Numerous studies have shown that the fatty acid distribution found in Canola oil has significant positive effects on the health of consumers moving away from more saturated dietary fats. Canola Oil has been shown to lower blood cholesterol levels and has a beneficial effect on clot formation, thereby decreasing the risk of heart disease and stroke
BioExx produces oil through true cold pressing only, avoiding the use of any solvents, thus lowering the overall environmental impact from our facility. The cold pressing technique retains the natural antioxidants and the characteristic smooth nutty flavour. The oil may be further refined to produce commercial canola oil. BioExx oil is currently marketed through Shafer Commodities.
