Chris Schnarr, Chief Executive Officer and Director

Mr. Schnarr has 20 years of experience founding, managing, and advising successful high growth companies.

Mr. Schnarr was a founder of Wireless Matrix Corporation in 1993. During his tenure with the Wireless Matrix, he served as Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, President, and as a Director of the company. Mr. Schnarr was responsible over various periods for accounting, corporate finance, capital markets, corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, corporate governance, operations, and administration. Mr. Schnarr resigned from Wireless Matrix in order to seek new challenges in September 2002. Mr. Schnarr is also the founder, and a Director of Endura Capital Inc., a private tax, risk advisory, and wealth management firm with offices in Toronto and Montreal.

Mr. Schnarr is also a Director of Legumex Walker Inc. (LWI:TSX). Mr. Schnarr holds a Masters in Business Administration (finance) from University of British Columbia (1990), and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a Minor in Economics, from Wilfrid Laurier University (1989).

Greg Furyk, CA, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Furyk joined BioExx Specialty Proteins Ltd. in 2008 in the role of Corporate Controller, and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in November, 2011.

Prior to joining BioExx, Mr. Furyk was a senior assurance manager in the field of public accounting, at two Toronto based public accounting firms, specializing in private owner managed businesses including those in the fields of manufacturing, automotive, advertising and other service related industries.

Mr. Furyk has also provided consulting services relating to accounting, tax and finance related issues to both privately and publically managed businesses within the mining and exploration and service related industries.

Mr. Furyk holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Ryerson University and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Samah Garringer, Vice President, Product and Business Development

Ms. Garringer has spent more than 20 years career focused on Business Development, Sales, Administration and Finance of retail companies, technology and manufacturing start ups.

Prior to BioExx, Ms. Garringer spent 4 years as the President of TWI Associates which was established in 1996 first as an import/export venture in the plastic-related industry in Brazil. Ms. Garringer and her associate have successfully negotiated a joint venture and a technology transfer agreement with ColorMatrix Corporation. The company then expanded to become a successful manufacturer of colorants and additives in the plastics field in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. During this time and until the end of 2003, Ms. Garringer, as the Director of Finance & Administration of the new company ColorMatrix South America was responsible for most development aspects including:

  • Negotiating the joint venture with the American head quarters and the technology transfer agreements between USA and Brazil
  • Negotiating and directing plant construction
  • Hiring of all staff and employment agreements
  • Maintaining responsibility for all commercial areas including customer contract negotiation and client issues
  • Maintaining oversight responsibility for the financial area including Brazilian and US GAAP statements.

Prior to ColorMatrix, Ms. Garringer spent 10 years in senior management positions experience with Consumers Distributing including in store operations, distribution, legal and finance, a $500M dollar company with 170 retail store chain in Canada. Ms. Garringer was educated at the American University of Cairo, with a B.A. in Economics and post graduate studies in Business and Finance, Ms. Garringer is fluent in English, Arabic and has a working knowledge of Portuguese.

Clinton Smith, Vice President Operations

Mr. Smith has more than 20 years in senior operations management roles in the food industry including managing operations, sales, capital improvements, and procurement.

Over a 9 year period Mr. Smith held the role of VP Canadian Operations for the food supply operations of one of Canada's largest grocery chains managing operations with sales in excess of $500 million annually where he was responsible for a team that was able to improve sales and profitability by more than 100% over a 2 year period while managing through an environment of increasing food safety controls and regulation. During this time he was responsible for all aspects of 12 Canadian processing plants including meat processing, bakery, aseptic juice, frozen vegetable, fluid milk and ice cream operations.
