Canola is the world's only made-in Canada crop, and it is often the nation's most valuable one.

With its low saturated fat level, excellent balance of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, its versatility and light taste, canola oil has found an important place in the world's kitchens, food processing companies and restaurants. In addition, with its high oil content versus other major oilseeds, interest in its use for biodiesel is growing rapidly.

According to the Canola Council of Canada:

Canola Oil has been shown to lower blood cholesterol levels and have a beneficial effect on clot formation, thereby decreasing the risk of heart disease and stroke.
